Following the huge success of its attractions in Coventry, Birmingham, Stratford-upon-Avon and Southend-on-Sea, one of the UK’s most popular escape game brands is now expanding into Chelmsford. Now open on Duke Street, the new base will offer a unique twist on the game guaranteed to get movie lovers excited!
Bringing three new and unique games into the Escape Live roster, the Chelmsford venue will be releasing games sure to excite and amaze with titles such as ‘Star Quest’ set in the far outreaches of space where you fight to survive before your ship falls into a black hole. Other titles include ‘Escape the Jungle’ which is set in a mysterious world brought to life through an old board game found in an abandoned attic, and finally ‘Sword in the Throne’, set 300 years ago in a world of magic and dragons!
Over the past five years, Jas Sodhi and John Dalziel, the dynamic duo behind the brand, have made all their venues the highest-rated attraction on TripAdvisor in their respected areas as well as picking up a number of awards. For participants, the aim of the game is to follow a series of clues to work out how to escape from a locked room. Teams of 2-8 players are given an hour to solve the puzzle and make their escape, making it great for days out with family and friends, as well as training and team-building sessions.
Venue owners Jeff and Jennifer Larner had this to say,
“Jeff and I have always loved getting together with friends and family to play games.” said Jennifer. “The ability to create an immersive 60 minute adventure into a different world whilst solving puzzles is exactly the type of experience we love. After our amazing success in Southend and all the incredible reviews we have received on TripAdvisor it was a honour to be the number 1 ‘Fun Thing To Do’ in Essex on their review platform and being ranked in the top 1% in the world. It was from this success, seeing our ideas come to life, and how much our customers love playing our rooms that hs encouraged us to expand into another venue in Chelmsford.”
The grand opening
To celebrate the launch of the new venue, the mayor of Chelmsford, Counsellor Bob Massey, came down to cut the ribbon at the official opening ceremony. “We are delighted to be opening our second venue in Essex. After our huge success in Southend, we felt Chelmsford was the perfect location for our next venue. It is great to be able to bring another exciting experience to the city centre”.
