Over the summer, we launched a search for a new CEO (Chief Escape Officer) to join our team. The winner would receive access to all Escape Live venues and experiences, including complimentary travel.
Introducing Maddie, Our New Escape Room CEO
We are thrilled to announce Maddie as our first-ever Chief Escape Officer! “I couldn’t believe I was selected for the role. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity! I’ve always loved escape rooms. I once even made a weekend of puzzles and escape room challenges for my family, so being Chief Escape Officer is a dream come true,” Maddie, 13 years old, shared. Maddie’s application stood out due to her code-encrypted submission, enthusiasm, creativity, and genuine passion for escape rooms.
Breaking Records at Escape Live
During her visit to our Birmingham venue, Maddie and her family set a new record in our Dr Watson’s Office Escape Room, finishing 27 minutes and 49 seconds early. They also completed three other games: Jack the Ripper, Time Machine, and The Lab. Maddie’s skill for escape rooms runs in her blood!
The Competition: A Fierce Battle for the Escape Room CEO Role
Our competition, aimed at 11-16 year olds, received an overwhelming response from young adventurers. After evaluating numerous entries, we narrowed the pool down to five candidates. These finalists faced a tough challenge: Escape Live’s online game, Rogue Agent. In this game, players track down an MI5 agent who’s been stealing art and sculptures globally. The players must uncover the agent’s identity, gather evidence, and locate their whereabouts through a government portal.
The Final Interview and CEO Selection
After the game, the candidates participated in an interview with the Escape Live Hiring Board. They answered questions about their escape room knowledge and passion. We are excited to have Maddie join us in the coming months. She will visit more venues over half-term, testing other experiences and offering her CEO expertise.
